POSITION SUMMARY

Job Purpose

The Price Analyst / Estimator ensures that information critical to pricing products – such as market trends, consumer habits, marketing strategies, competitor pricing, and manufacturing processes are aligned and accurate to increase profitability and market share.  The Price Analyst is a critical link between Sales, Customer Service, Engineering, Process Improvement, Purchasing, and Operations to determine accurate cost and price models.

A Typical Day / Job Responsibilities

Pricing Analysis

  • Complete marketing & competitor research on pricing and market trends. 

  • Use analytical tools to interpret pricing data and historical estimates to forecast trends.

  • Recommend pricing strategies based on data insights.

  • Create reports to support stakeholder decisions using internal and external data.

  • Work with Sales, Marketing, Accounting, Operations, etc. to support projects related to promotions, discounts, or campaigns that require data-driven analysis.

  • Evaluate revenue and margin impacts of price adjustments based on budget and communicate with Sales & Leadership teams regularly.

  • Revise pricing decisions if necessary, and proactively monitor products’ performance to determine whether reevaluation is needed

  • Maintain detailed records for products to evaluate future pricing decisions.  

Estimating, ERP System Maintenance, & Continuous Improvement

  • Create product estimates for custom quotes utilizing ERP software.

  • Maintain part information in ERP system; data entry and part usage/cost accuracy.

  • Create new manufacturing parts as requested by Engineering, Production, and Sales.  Participate in product development meetings to gather insights and report on action items.

  • Coordinate with Production and Technical to ensure the accuracy of estimated products and processes. Analyze run history and participate in decision-making when making part updates to standards.

  • Review part setup attributes (such as run speed, primary routes) semiannually to identify gaps and adjust.

  • Spend time on the shop floor to learn equipment and operator capabilities related to productivity, efficiency, and capacity utilization.

  • Determine how and where a product will be manufactured, creating a route and bill of materials (BOM), manufacturing specifications, and any other necessary documents.

  • Maintain SOPs of critical processes and documentation of current standards.

  • Support continuous improvement project work related to data analysis and reporting.

 Education, Experience, Skills

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

  • 1-3 years of experience in pricing, data analysis, or a similar role preferred.

  • Experience with pricing software or ERP systems

  • Manufacturing industry and process improvement knowledge preferred.   

  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects at the same time.

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Strong math skills, including problem solving.

  • Willingness to learn new processes and systems.

  • Be a team player and take action to promote a positive team climate.

  • Confidence and professionalism in representing Roastar.
