Job Purpose
As a Controller at Roastar, Inc., you will be a hands-on strategic partner to the Leadership Team, driving financial excellence and sustainability within the company. This key role is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the business, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, compliance, and financial strategy. The Controller will play a vital role in steering the company’s financial direction, ensuring robust performance, and positioning the organization for long-term growth in a competitive industry.
A Typical Day / Job Responsibilities

Act as a strategic advisor to the Leadership Team, contributing to critical business decisions that impact financial and company goals.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to support growth, investment, and market positioning.
Oversee all aspects of financial planning, including the process and execution of annual budgeting and long-term forecasting.
Conduct in-depth financial analyses to identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost optimization.
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor financial health and operational efficiency.
Prepare reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
Supervise the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Represent the company’s best interest in ERP software strategy & improvements.
Implement and maintain internal controls & processes to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
Stay updated on evolving financial regulations, standards, and industry practices.
Lead risk management efforts, including credit risk, operational risk, and investment risk.
Ensure appropriate insurance coverage to protect company assets.
Manage relationships with auditors, legal advisors, and other external stakeholders.
Optimize cash flow and working capital to ensure the company’s financial stability.
Develop strategies for efficient inventory and procurement management in collaboration with operations teams.
Introduce and oversee cost control measures to improve profitability.
Build and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
Provide leadership and training to staff, ensuring continuous professional growth.

Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field; MBA and CPA preferred.
Minimum of 7-10 years’ experience, with some experience in a controller/senior financial management role in ecommerce or manufacturing preferred.
Track record of leadership in developing and executing financial strategies for growth and operational efficiency.
Prior experience with ERP Software implementation and project management, a plus.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Passionate and enthusiastic about organizational excellence and attention to detail.
Ability to work with multiple priorities, prioritize and organize workload to meet deadlines.
Dependable and punctual.

Hours of work are generally during regular business hours and average at least 45 hours a week.
There will be some variation in work hours due to employee shift schedules, special projects, deadlines, employee needs, and other concerns. Occasional out-of-town and overnight travel may be required for business and education.
