Process Engineer

Job Purpose

This position will be responsible for providing engineer-related support using project management to focus on process improvement. Assist with improving production process flow, reducing shortages, developing performance metrics, and identifying solutions through root-cause analysis.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary.

• Lead root cause analysis effort to identify corrective actions and prevent recurrence of process and/or equipment failure.

• Analyze downtime inefficiencies and interview Operations staff to seek improvement ideas/actions that drive meaningful cost savings.

• Work with Production Team to establish, improve, and standardize effective production process controls

• Develop, maintain, and report KPI’s for production

• Work closely with Production Manager & Supervisor to help develop & maintain pull system throughout the production area

• Follow all Company safety policies and safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment.

• Follow all Company policies, rules, and regulations.

• Act as a professional representative of Roastar always.

• Interact with production, scheduling, training specialists, maintenance, quality, and engineering in a professional manner.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent)

• 1-3 years applicable experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred converting, printing, or flexible packaging)

• Experience with Six Sigma and Lean concepts

• Proven project management experience

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, and procedure manuals.

• Desire to seek out information and problem solve

• Good analytical skills with attention to detail

• Strong oral and written communication abilities

• Ability and desire to work in a team environment

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications

• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the business

• Leadership Skills
