Press Assistant

Job Purpose

The Press Assistant provides support to the press operators by verifying work orders, managing the X-rite master storage process, and staging raw materials/press consumables. In addition to this, they will need to interact with employees from other departments to ensure that information is obtained to improve efficiency in the press room.


Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary.

· Prepare master folders and flag skus that may need a master printed.

· Verify masters are in X-rite and that they match what is called out on the job jacket.

· Pull and return master folders.

· Maintain the master storage area.

· Verify the work order sku by sku and bringing up questions/concerns with prepress or the CSR.

· Stage raw materials for the presses based on the schedule.

· Return unprinted rolls to raw material locations.

· Manage the ink and materials for the press room.

· Assist operators with change overs.

· Cut cores for the presses

· Take out waste oil / varnish / primer.

· Collect job jackets and retains for scheduling.

· File job jackets and maintain the job jacket storage area.

· Work with press operators in downtime.

· General housekeeping, 5S cleaning, etc.

· Follow all Company policies, rules, and regulations.

· Act as a professional representative of Roastar at all times.

· Maintain safe and clean practices per company policies and procedures.

Education and/or Experience

· High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.

· Experience in graphic arts preferred.

· Experience operating a forklift.

· Work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

· Excellent communication skills, including written and interpersonal.

· Computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn job specific systems.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour
