POSITION SUMMARY

The Continuous Improvement Estimator ensures that information critical to the manufacturing and quoting of all products manufactured by Roastar is accurate. The Continuous Improvement Estimator is accountable for creating accurate cost and price estimates within our ERP system and collaborating on projects with CI team. The Continuous Improvement Estimator role is a critical link between Sales, Customer Service, Technical, Purchasing, and Production to determine accurate cost and price models.

WORK SCHEDULE

Full-time, Exempt; 1st Shift (Monday – Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm)

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary.

Estimating

  • Possess knowledge regarding material and equipment; understanding how products run, where products are best run, and why they should be run on specific equipment.

  • Create product estimates for customer quotes and management review, utilizing current and accurate raw material, equipment, and process data.

  • Determine how and where a product will be manufactured, creating a route and bill of materials (BOM), manufacturing specifications, and any other necessary documents.

  • Create new manufacturing parts as requested by Technical, Production, and Sales.

Process Improvement

  • Ask questions to determine the best products and processes at Roastar.

  • Work with Operations and Process Engineering Teams to gather data and create measurables that drive continuous improvement efforts.

  • Manage Work Order process – new product development, blank products, process improvement trials, sample packs, etc.

  • Work closely with production to understand product/process changes and ensure performance matches ERP standards.

  • Maintain SOPs of critical processes and documentation of current standards.

  • Aide in process improvement activities and offer recommendations for best practices.

  • Initiate productivity, safety, quality, and cost reduction improvements, by working collaboratively with others to implement them.

Data Analytics

  • Maintain part information in ERP system; data entry and part usage/cost accuracy.

  • Coordinate with Production and Technical to ensure the accuracy of estimated products and processes. Analyze run history and participate in decision-making when making part updates.

  • Provide data/reports to aid in decision-making for price adjustments or new product launches.

  • Review part speeds semiannually to identify gaps and adjust.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 2 years of production experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

  • 2-year Associate or 4-year Bachelor Degree is preferred.

  • Engineering, Estimating, Accounting, or Manufacturing experience is preferred.

  • Experience with data analysis, project management & process improvement is preferred.

SPECIFIC SKILLS AND LICENSURE

  • Good organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects at the same time.

  • Attention to detail and precision and accuracy in documentation and record-keeping.

  • Excellent communication skills, including written and interpersonal; ability to work with all levels of the organization.

  • Strong math skills, including problem solving.

  • Strong computer skills are required, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel) and experience with ERP and MRP systems.

  • Ability to ask for help when needed.

  • Willingness to learn new processes and systems.

  • Be a team player and take action to promote a positive team climate.

  • Easy to work with, focused on job duties, and possesses a pioneering mindset.
